Immortalized in Wood by Immortile Ltd.

14 December 2009

Nat. President, Ken Satterly   Journal Front Cover Dec '09
with Immortile Ltd plaque

The December 2009 BIFD cover encapsulated the very essence of the BIFD Journal. Innovative and creative in equal measures. The company IMMORTILE contacted the BIFD Journal with news of their product launch and from the start BIFD editor, Colin Liddell, knew that this product should enjoy some coverage, and where better than the front cover of the magazine? Julian Dakowski had discussed with Colin this unique concept in advance of the official launch, and then re contacted with the news that his unique memorial product was ready for the consumer.

As with all things, to see it first hand, rather than a photo is always going to be the best medium, and the product does not disappoint. You can look forward to a feature on it in a future edition of the Journal. Essentially, it is a new process which has been developed and produces true photographic images in wood. To realize this wooden photograph, a three dimensional contour is created, presenting the image in a tangible and tactile surface. The product comes from the same stable that produces the sculptured ceramic plaques: the company IMMORTILE Ltd and naturally, the process is patented.

From Christ Church, Coseley to Peru -
an Appeal to Help the Children

17 February 2010

Christ Church, Coseley in the diocese of Worcester and Richard Vines, a funeral director with J Hartland & Son Funeral Home in Coseley, are together bringing the plight of the poor in Peru to the fore.

Their mission is to try and raise money to help those in poverty and to help keep some very precious and desperately needed schools open. Children living in the shanty towns around Lima in Peru, cannot afford to go to the state provided schools and attend schools provided by the church in Peru.

The Anglican Diocese of Peru has links with diocese all over the world including a link with Christ Church, Coseley of about 15 years. These worldwide links offer prayer, support and money enabling the church in Lima to provide schools which take in desperately poor children and give them a chance of a better life.

The current global financial crisis has meant that money has been drastically reduced and if the situation continues these very special schools will close. If anyone would like to help, please send a cheque made payable to "Christ Church Coseley" to the following address: The Peru Fund, c/o Richard Vines, J Hartland & Son Funeral Directors, 79 Clifton Street, Hurst Hill, Coseley WV14 9HB.

All donations are truly appreciated at this difficult time,
with thanks.
