He had been there three weeks previously with the BIFD roadshow, but on this occasion he attended the regional AGM. With him was Rennie Bear, and the region quickly put their hands in their pockets for a raffle which raised £180 for this year's presidential charity. Iain Rennie Hospice at Home. The new Chairman is Gary Staker from Monkseaton and takes over from Kate Bush, who had delivered another sterling year. Happily, all of the other posts were filled with the trademark enthusiasm of the region. |

Nat. President, Ken Satterly Journal Front Cover Dec '09
with Immortile Ltd plaque
The December 2009 BIFD cover encapsulated the very essence of the BIFD Journal. Innovative and creative in equal measures. The company IMMORTILE contacted the BIFD Journal with news of their product launch and from the start BIFD editor, Colin Liddell, knew that this product should enjoy some coverage, and where better than the front cover of the magazine? Julian Dakowski had discussed with Colin this unique concept in advance of the official launch, and then re contacted with the news that his unique memorial product was ready for the consumer.
As with all things, to see it first hand, rather than a photo is always going to be the best medium, and the product does not disappoint. You can look forward to a feature on it in a future edition of the Journal. Essentially, it is a new process which has been developed and produces true photographic images in wood. To realize this wooden photograph, a three dimensional contour is created, presenting the image in a tangible and tactile surface. The product comes from the same stable that produces the sculptured ceramic plaques: the company IMMORTILE Ltd and naturally, the process is patented.
At the December Board of Directors, BIFD National President Ken Satterly, was presented with the plaque commemorating his current presidential year, by Colin Liddell
